Sears Holdings India celebrated the 67th Independence Day of India in a unique way. It wasn't just a day of national pride but also one that re-emphasized freedom. To mark the day, there were many fun filled activities planned.

The celebrations started with a charitable event. A blood donation drive was organised in association with Ruby Hall. This was followed by the national anthem played out at all the premises.

Continuing with the festivities, a painting competition was conducted to help everyone explore their creative side. Associates participated in big number and this was followed by a quick fire quiz competition that gave everyone a chance to test their knowledge and learn something new. The poetry competition organised allowed participants to put forth some very interesting thoughts. Poems in Hindi and English were submitted for this event and it clearly showcased the creative flair of SHI associates. The dress code for the occasion was tri-colour and the best dressed walked away with some cool prizes along with those who won the painting and poetry competition.

The celebrations ended with the SHI Leadership sharing thoughts on the Independence Day. .

Every year, the complete Sears Holdings India (SHI) family comes together in celebrating Zest for life with a Junoon! It is a platform that affords all associates the opportunity to display their talent and skills in fields other than their work. What’s more, the families of SHI associates are part of the event as well, making this truly a  family affair!

The event was held on May 18, 2013 at the Westin Hotel in Pune. The event was graced by Padmashri Lila Poonawalla along with husband Firoz who joined our CEO Alok Kumar in kickstarting the festivities. Given the family environment, a carnival at the venue started off the celebrations. Special guests Lalit Jawar, Nitin Lahoti, Greg McPartlin, Saurabh Limaye graced the occasion along with VIPs like Paresh Degaonkar, Anand Sangvi, Atul Chordia, Praveen Mutha and Vivek Rachh.

It was merry time all the way at SHI, with the best decorated Christmas trees, chubby Santa's spurning around, cake distribution and not to forget the energetic and well enjoyed game of Tambola. SHI had its associates taking part in all the festivities & winning amazing gifts. A good, well deserved and happy run to the finish line of 2012.

Here are some lovable photos of the events conducted.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister loved children immensely.  As a tribute to him and his affection for children, November 14, his birthday is celebrated as ‘Children’s Day’ in India. And SHI marked this important day celebrating it with its coveted associates and their precious children.

To encourage the little ones in participating actively, a series of games and activities such as Ring game, Paper game, Drawing, Dance and Fancy Dress competition were organised. The winners of fancy dress competition and games were awarded with gifts.

Along with the food stalls like popcorn and candy floss there were painting & tattoo artists and magic shows to entertain the kids. To add on the fun, giant life sized cartoon characters were also there to play and dance with the kids.

The kids surely, loved their time of snacking and relished it to their heart’s content. Undoubtedly, it was a delight watching these little ones enjoying themselves. The return gifts were a sheer delight for all the lovely children who came and conquered everyone's hearts with their joyous presence.

On December 10, 3 years ago SHI begun its operations in India. This journey has seen it grow from a small knit team to a huge family of associates today ruled by innovation, excellence & passion. To celebrate this remarkable journey, Alok and few other associates who have also been with SHI took everyone down memory lane and shared their exciting journey. The senior leadership then team cut a yummy ‘3 cheers for 3 years’ cake which was distributed to all the associates. Alok was then felicitated by Santosh Panicker for the Long Service Award, after which Team &  Inter BU Competition awards were given away. The much awaited Eco-friendly 2013 diaries was unveiled at the event and the first copy was presented to Alok. The event ended on a positive note and a promise to join hands for the next big leap.
