Sears Holdings India bagged 4 awards at 4th Asia's Best Employer Brand Awards, held on, July 31, 2013. The ceremony was held at Pan Pacific Hotel, Singapore.

Sears won awards in the following categories:

  • Award for HR Strategy in Line with Business
  • HR leadership Award - Santosh Panicker
  • Award for Talent Management

NASSCOM is known for being the industry association for IT-BPM sector in India. It's current membership currently stands at 1400 and the companies under NASSCOM represent 95% of industry revenues. Sears is now part of this esteemed group, thanks to its Vice President and Managing Director, Alok Kumar. Alok has been included in the distinguished panel of Nasscom's GIC (Global In-house Centers) National Council.

NASSCOM members are active participants in the new global economy and are admired for their innovative business practices, social initiatives and thrust on emerging opportunities. The council members play a key role in major initiatives of the industry. This has enabled the association to spearhead initiatives and programs to build the sector in the country and on a global scale.

Everyone is aware that Uttarakhand was hit by the worst flood a few days back, leaving thousands dead and lakhs of people homeless. The Indian Army and many voluntary groups are working round the clock to help the distressed. Government bodies and many corporate organizations are extending help, and as an organization, Sears too set forth to do its best in this time of crises for the affected families.

Sears employees who wished to help, donated a day’s salary (Basic Pay) towards this initiative.

Sears CPO, Santosh Panicker was a part of an esteemed panel at Zensar Technologies on June 6, 2013. The discussion was around Aspirations of GenY and the initiatives taken by various organizations to fulfil them. Uma Ganesh (CEO, Global Talent Track) and Mihir Jha (Director, Amdocs) who were a part of the panel as well, shared their exciting insights on how aspirations shaped their life and what GenY should focus on for a more focused growth. Arun Wakhlu (Executive Chairman, Pragati leadership) beautifully enabled the session and encouraged the audience to express themselves and their aspirations fearlessly.

Agility, flexibility, determination, fearlessness are some qualities that GenY represented and the discussion reached a wonderful conclusion as Industry leaders mentored the audience to strike a fine balance between individual aspirations & organizational excellence.
