Five years in Pune and going strong, Sears Holdings India now ventures into the Garden City

Sears Holdings, a leading integrated retailer with stores across the United States, is going to open its second technology center at the Embassy Tech Park in Sarjapur, Bengaluru, and is currently awaiting necessary regulatory clearances. This center, tentatively scheduled to open in September, will be spearheaded by MD Alok Kumar, who is also heading Sears’s first development center in Pune, and will focus on developing solutions for Omni-channel retail.

The unit in Bengaluru is spread across 15000 square feet and is going to be a Center of Excellence with focus on product and platform development in the retail online and offline domain.

Sears Holdings India has been at the forefront of developing its IT solutions and products. The Pune center is more than 1,000 engineers strong and has been operational since 2009.
